The Gopfert Operator is responsible for overseeing all activities associated with running the Gopfert cell and ancillary machinery including staging, setup, operation run, quality and housekeeping. Coordinates and provide work direction to Gopfert team. Ensures optimal production, quality and safety functions are met in alignment with our internal and external customer’s expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
*Reviews production schedule confirming Factory Work Orders and sequential interface order lineup are correct. Coordinate staging the order setup with Gopfert team.
*Retrieve saved setup file or enter data from Factory Work Order and Print Card into machine or interface system. Enter settings including Prefeeder, Feeder, Flexo Printer/Wash Cycle, Transfer Station and Rotary Die Cutter. Ensure cutting dies, plates, ink, Feeder and Stacker have been accurately programmed and/or setup.
*Monitor Gopfert team and operations throughout order run ensuring optimal speed and quality of product is achieved.
*Responsible for ensuring all required quality checks have been accurately formed. Verify and approve PQV form has been completed correctly. Oversee staging of non-conforming product awaiting dispositioning.
*Troubleshoot production and quality issues and provide corrective action. Work with Gopfert Cell Leader on improvements and recommendations for optimizing setup, production, quality, and safety goals. Communicate scheduling, production, quality, safety or maintenance issues with internal staff if applicable.
*Coordinate and assist with unjamming machine. Oversee and perform basic preventative maintenance duties.
*Ensure all Gopfert staff are following and complying with all health/safety rules and regulations.
*Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
*Mathematics – Knowledge of industrial math including arithmetic, algebra, and geometry. Ability to calculate measurement conversion. Ability to determine the relationship between tolerances and dimensions in an acceptable range.
*Monitoring – Inspecting/Monitoring board and machine performance and ability to make improvements or take corrective action when needed.
*Computer – Familiar with basic functions of database and operating systems. Can locate, open and save files.
*CAD Drawing – Ability to read and interpret CAD drawing including dimensions, symbols, notes and views.
*Equipment Maintenance – Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
*Installation –Installing tooling, knife segments and printing ink to meet specifications.
*Operation Monitoring – Watching full production run processes to make sure a machine is working properly.
*Quality Control Analysis – Conducting tests and inspections of corrugated board to evaluate quality and performance.
*Troubleshooting – Determining causes of non-conforming board and machine operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
*Material and Operation Analysis – Determining quality of corrugated board and adjusting settings accordingly.
