General Labor 2nd Shift 2pm-11pm/ Post Helper
Responsible for the setup and off feed of corrugated board including stacking, strapping, wrapping and preparing for shipment to customer. Ensures optimal production, quality and safety efficiencies are met in alignment with our internal and external customer’s expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Using the Factory Work Order manually set up Strapper using the dimensions of the corrugated board. Manually adjusts backstop according to board dimensions and stacking pattern. Enter into Stapper control panel the number of straps and placement per customer specifications. Loads and replaces strapping cartridges as needed.
Perform final quality inspection ensuring board conforms to quality specifications including gluing and folding requirements are met. Communicate board quality issues with Post Operator if applicable.
Manually stacks corrugated board ensuring bundles are neatly stacked, conform to pattern and height specifications.
Ensure proper placement of bottom sheet, corner guard and load tags on bundles.
Manually rotate shrink wrap around bundles.
Troubleshoot Strapper machine issues and provide corrective action.
Place non-conforming board in dedicated staging location.
Assist with unjamming machine.
Perform basic preventative maintenance duties.
Perform daily housekeeping duties.
Comply and follow all health/safety rules and regulations.

Troubleshooting – Determining causes of non-conforming board and machine operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
