A Tradition We Look Forward to All Year: Inside DeLine Box’s Annual Themed Christmas Party

Why Celebrating Together Matters — In Life and in Packaging

At DeLine Box & Display, we spend every day helping brands bring ideas to life — through color, structure, creativity, and a whole lot of corrugated. But once a year, we get to turn that creativity inward for an event everyone looks forward to: our annual themed Christmas party. It’s one of those traditions that sneaks up on you in the best way. No matter how busy the season gets, our team starts whispering guesses about the theme, reminiscing about last year’s costumes, and wondering who’s going to win the games this go around. The Christmas Party brings out a shared excitement that reminds us we’re more than coworkers at a packaging company— we’re a community that works hard together all year and takes the time to celebrate each other.

This year we turned our manufacturing plant into Hogwarts and had a Harry Potter themed holiday party. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin competed in pin the nose on Voldemort, Quidditch, and more! Dobby was the star of the show.

A Party That Looks… Exactly Like a Packaging Company Threw It

If you’ve ever seen our Christmas party setup, you know we don’t do anything halfway. We build custom corrugated displays for the theme, we turn employees into actors, we have games and prizes, and a whole lot of fun. Our design team does the best job creating packaging props that makes the theme come alive.

Why This Tradition Means So Much to Us

The Christmas party is a time where everyone in different departments can come together and have a shared experience. Someone in the design department gets to sit next to an operator on the Corrugator. A sales rep gets to tell customer service how much they appreciated their help this year.  Every year the theme changes, but the laughter and energy stays the same. People who are quiet all year suddenly become fierce competitors. Teams cheer each other on and everyone walks away with a prize. Those moments build a type of connection you can’t manufacture. You can’t train it. You can’t schedule it. You can only create the space for it — and that’s why we do this.

Some of the best themes have been Jurassic Park, Despicable Me, Elf, and SpongeBob to name a few. We can’t wait to keep this tradition going for years to come.
