The People Behind the Packaging: Meet Steve

The People Behind the Packaging: Meet Steve Broich

When people think about boxes and packaging, they usually picture products arriving on a doorstep or sitting neatly on a store shelf. What they don’t often see is everything that happens behind the scenes to make those moments possible. There are many people apart of the corrugated manufacturing process with years of experience that turn paper into custom boxes and retail displays.

At DeLine Box & Display, that experience often looks like someone who has grown up inside the business. Someone like Steve Broich.

Steve started with DeLine Box over 18 years ago. He represents something rare in manufacturing today, not just longevity, but a true understanding of how every part of the operation connects.

From the Ground Up

Steve’s path at DeLine Box didn’t start at a desk, it started on the plant floor. He started his career working on the 85″ Maramatsu ( AKA Bertha) and today he ensures that each department is operating efficiently and steps in wherever support is needed.

Steve has worked his way through nearly every part of the business including:

  • Multi-machine operations
  • Corrugator Operator
  • Quality and safety
  • Scheduling and logistics
  • Flexo tooling and project management
  • Design and administrative support

That kind of cross-functional experience has made Steve a true DeLine Box Aficionado. He can step into virtually any department, quickly understand what’s happening, and help keep everything moving forward.

Today, as Steve continues moving into project management and taking on more responsibilities, he brings a level of insight that’s hard to replicate. He understands what it takes to get packaging from concept to completion because he’s done it at every stage.

Why It Matters to Brands

For brands scaling into retail, details matter.

The difference between packaging that performs well and packaging that fails in stores or during shipping often comes down to decisions made during production. Structural integrity of boxes, print accuracy, shipping and coordination across teams is all important to ensure each packaging project is a success.

Steve’s role helps ensure those details don’t get missed.

His ability to connect departments, anticipate challenges, and keep things moving is part of what allows DeLine to deliver packaging that arrives retail-ready and built to perform. Whether you are ordering an ecommerce box, PDQ, shipper, or basic shipping box, Steve has made a decision to make your order move efficiently through the manufacturing process.

A True Corrugated Packaging Aficionado

What stands out most about Steve is how much he genuinely enjoys the craft of making great boxes and displays.

Steve has a deep appreciation for the science and capability behind corrugated packaging. From structural design to print quality to real-world performance, he sees the industry as constantly evolving, with endless opportunities to create and improve.

That mindset carries into how he works with the team around him.

Steve is known for his infectious positive energy and strong work ethic, helping train and mentor both new and experienced team members. He brings a level of enthusiasm that raises the standard across the company. Whether Steve is jumping in to problem solve in different departments or playing Dobby in the Harry Potter Christmas party, he brings 100% every day.

The Culture Behind the Work

Ask Steve what’s kept him at DeLine for nearly two decades, and the answer is simple.

It’s the people.

As a family-owned company, DeLine has built an environment where employees are supported, challenged, and given opportunities to grow. Steve’s career path is a direct reflection of that.

From the floor to leadership, the opportunity to keep learning and evolving has always been there.

Beyond the Plant

Outside of work, Steve is a proud husband and father of two, spending his time cheering his kids on in sports and camping / adventuring with his family. A fun fact about Steve? He can impersonate pretty much any voice or movie character; we think if he were not in the box business, he would be a voice for Disney’s next hit movie.

Steve is a true reflection of where hard work and showing up every day with a positive attitude can take you.
